A group of 16 academic institutions and six community organizations and nonprofit agencies have formed the Connecticut AI Alliance (CAIA). The consortium is aimed at advancing the development, application, and impact of artificial intelligence across the state.

Connecticut has made significant progress toward its broadband goals, with access to gigabit-speed internet rising from 38 percent of locations in 2022 to nearly 87 percent by the end of 2024, a new report shows. 

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) launched its new Tap & Ride pilot program, allowing passengers to pay their bus fare by tapping their Visa or Mastercard debit or credit cards, and by using their mobile wallet.

Norwalk (Conn.) Public Schools (NPS) announced that five additional schools will receive free Chromebook devices thanks to NPS expanding its participation in Verizon Innovative Learning.

Connecticut is using $41 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act Capital Project Fund to expand broadband infrastructure and improve internet connectivity in the state.
